The Clangers win BAFTA gong for Altrincham Business Park animators!
The Clangers, the much loved children’s TV series, won a BAFTA for its animators, Factory Transmedia, in the prestigious 2015 Awards ceremony held in London this month.
This has been a very successful year for the company, based at Unit 5, St George’s Court, on the park (or Planet Clangers as it is known to its occupants!) who built the show’s fantastic moonsets on the premises.
Having moved in at the beginning of 2015, the team have worked hard to recreate The Clangers show for BBC TV after a 40-year absence. It remains true to the original 1970s series, and the relaunch in June was much acclaimed, culminating in the award of the Children’s BAFTA in the pre-school category.
Managing Director Phil Chalk said that the team at Factory Transmedia, which is also behind such other children’s favourites as Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Roary the Racing Car and Strange Hill High, was “thrilled” to be recognised.
He added “It is a testament to the love and dedication shown by our wonderfully talented crew, who have helped reimagine this iconic series for a new generation”.
There is clearly something out of this world at Altrincham Business Park, and it’s attracting occupiers from all business sectors.
